Job Purpose
The Warehouseman is responsible for receiving, storing, organizing, and distributing materials and products efficiently and safely within the warehouse. This role ensures accurate inventory control, maintains warehouse cleanliness, and supports smooth daily operations.
Main Responsibilities
- To receive, issue and identify stock.
- To correctly locate items in store.
- To ensure accurate identification of user customer needs by means of computer stock list.
- To conduct all transactions with the utmost courtesy.
- To clean and prepare parts & accessories on racks.
- To arrange collection/delivery of parts.
- Fills requisitions and distribute parts to appropriate location.
- To receive, dispatch and identify stock and to check goods accurately from suppliers.
- To ensure that the Parts Warehouse Supervisor is aware of stock movement.
- To maintain good helpful relationships with all staff and customers representatives.
- To guard against unauthorized withdrawal from stock.
- To maintain stock control and records system.
- To ensure stock is kept secure and in first-class condition.
- To ensure cleanliness of the entire warehouse and its components.
HSE Responsibilities
- Adhere to follow all company Quality, Health, Safety, And Environmental (QHSE) policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
- Promptly identify and report unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses to the appropriate supervisor or QHSE team.
- Properly use, maintain, and store personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety tools as required by the job.
- Attend and actively participate in mandatory Safety inductions, HSE trainings, safety meetings, emergency drills and root cause investigations.
- Follow established emergency response procedures, including evacuation plans, fire response, and first aid if trained.
- Follow protocols to minimize environmental impact, including proper waste disposal and reporting spills or leaks.
- Provide suggestions to enhance Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and take responsibility and initiatives for continual improvement
Qualification & Relevant Certifications
- Essential: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Desirable: Automobile Parts Specialist Certification or its equivalent.
Knowledge Skills & Experience
- 1 year experience in related field.
- Ability to read, analyse, and interpret common scientific and technical documents.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.
